Pigmentation / Sunspots

Pigmentation spots, commonly found on the face and differing in color from the surrounding skin, are a type of skin pigmentation disorder caused by an increase in melanin. These spots frequently appear on the cheeks and forehead, often worsening with sun exposure, and are more common in women. Various factors contribute to their formation.

The essence of these spots is melanin. In the basal layer of the skin's epidermis are melanocytes, whose job is to synthesize melanin. When stimulated by ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun, these cells work harder to produce more melanin to protect the underlying cells, reducing DNA damage and inflammation, which results in spots on the skin surface. Over time, melanin migrates with the cells to the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, and eventually sheds off. This skin metabolism cycle takes approximately 28 days.

Causes of Pigmentation Spots:
  1. Genetic Factors:

For example, hereditary freckles that form during fetal development, typically appearing around ages 6-12 and peaking around age 18.

  2. External Factors:

UV exposure can induce or worsen pigmentation spots.

Use of poor-quality cosmetics and external stimuli or abrasions.

  3. Internal Factors:

    Hormonal imbalances.

Increased tyrosinase activity during pregnancy leads to melanin deposition.

Acid-base imbalance: an acidic body constitution can slow metabolism, causing pigment deposition.

Poor nutrition, vitamin deficiency, and slow metabolism can lead to spots.

  4. Psychological Factors:

High stress, excessive fatigue, nervous system disorders, and decreased adrenal cortex function can increase tyrosinase activity, leading to pigment deposition.

  5. Photosensitivity Reactions:

Antibiotics and contraceptives can increase UV absorption.

  6. Diseases:

Liver and kidney dysfunction, poor hematopoietic function, insufficient blood and qi, slow blood circulation, and poor metabolism, such as in diabetes, can lead to decreased overall body function and slow metabolism.

Hyperthyroidism increases tyrosinase activity, leading to more pigment.Skin diseases or acne causing pigment deposition.

    Aging reduces metabolic function.

Treatment Plan

1.Lumenis with M22 IPL

Introduction:The Stellar M22 is the latest upgraded version of Stellar IPL photorejuvenation released by Lumenis in 2020. It features Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) with Optimal Pulse Technology (OPT) and non-ablative fractional laser capabilities, offering over 600 different treatment mode combinations for addressing more than 30 skin concerns.OPT™ IPL photorejuvenation is currently one of the most advanced and popular non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedures. It utilizes the effects of intense pulsed light generated by the M22 to stimulate the skin, inducing molecular structural changes in the collagen and elastin fibers of the dermis, restoring their original elasticity, thereby achieving the treatment effects of wrinkle reduction and pore size reduction. The greatest strength of STELLAR M22 lies in its ability to adjust the intensity (wavelength) of light according to the skin using filters. With a single treatment, dual irradiation can be applied to the face, delivering energy to the dermis-level filters to act on latent pigments deep within the skin. Subsequently, filters reacting to epidermal pigments are used to effectively improve pigmentation, freckles, and brighten skin tone.Suitable Candidates:

  • Individuals with common pigmentation issues such as freckles, sunspots, and age spots.

  • Individuals with signs of skin photoaging.

  • Those with vascular-type pigmentation.

  • Individuals with mild pigmentation issues accompanied by erythema, telangiectasia, or redness awaiting repair.

  • Individuals seeking both pigmentation correction and skin whitening and rejuvenation.

2.Chemical Peel

Introduction:

A chemical peel involves the application of a solution with a certain concentration of acidic ingredients to the skin. This solution dissolves the oil that connects the corneocytes, facilitating the shedding of the aging stratum corneum and accelerating the renewal rate of corneocytes and a small portion of the upper epidermal cells. This process speeds up the skin's metabolism, promotes the proliferation of elastic fibers in the dermis, and restores and maintains the skin's health. Chemical peels are effective in skin whitening, reducing acne scars, improving pores, fine lines, blackheads, treating acne, and melasma.

Mechanism of Action:

The epidermis and dermis contain pigment particles that may lead to surface pigmentation, pigmentation spots, and acne scars. Chemical peels can effectively improve these issues through three main effects: epidermal, pigment, and dermal effects.

Epidermal and Pigment Effects: Chemical peels prevent abnormal accumulation of keratinocytes, promote the activation and renewal of epidermal cells, and reduce melanin production. Compound acids also have excellent moisturizing properties, making them effective for acne. Chemical peels can accelerate the resolution of acne inflammatory lesions and help remove blackheads, lighten acne spots, and scars.

Dermal Effects: Chemical peels promote the production of collagen, assisting in the renewal of elastic fibers and the formation of ground substances. Additionally, they possess antioxidant capabilities, making them effective in preventing skin aging and reducing fine wrinkles.

By addressing these aspects, chemical peels contribute to skin rejuvenation, improvement in texture, and overall skin health. It's important to consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional to determine the appropriate type and strength of chemical peel for individual skin concerns.

3.Brightly skinbooster

Rejuran Tone-up Booster, consisting of components A and B, contains a unique patented formula that cleverly achieves both regeneration and whitening effects. It targets melanin, precisely fading dark spots while simultaneously activating collagen production. This results in skin that is fair, radiant, firm, and elastic.

It is suitable for individuals seeking to whiten and fade spots, eliminate dullness, hydrate and moisturize, repair damaged cells, and delay skin aging. Rejuran Tone-up Booster can be applied locally to areas such as the eyes, dark spots, and other areas with hyperpigmentation.

4.IV drip

The IV drip is the skin by supplementing it with Vitamin C and glutathione, improving melanin levels. Combined with sterile saline to enhance absorption, the ingredients are very transparent, safe, and effective. It is administered intravenously (IV) to ensure a rapid and even whitening effect throughout the body.
